On this week's show, Brian Flores is back in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an assistant, does the hiring hurt the case he's making against the NFL?

We react to the College basketball story of the season so far that saw Michigan head basketball head coach Juwan Howard being suspended for the rest of the regular season after throwing a punch toward Wisconsin's coaching staff following the Wolverines' loss to the Badgers on February 20th. We'll ask if Howard had a legitimate reason for his actions and if a 5-game suspension was appropriate or enough.

We'll share our thoughts on what we felt was a lackluster NBA All-Star Weekend, and what changes we would make to the Skill's Competition, 3-point contest, and Slam Dunk Contest to make the product more watchable.

Finally, The Boston Celtics have won 10-11 after destroying the Brooklyn Nets Thursday night, how were the C's able to turn things around from a very slow start to the season, and how the addition of Derrick Rose has helped the team turnaround, and what does a successful season look like for the Celtics.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Welcome to missing a point with my guy that will be K Bob Kelly. What's going on? Man? We haven't done this in a while, you know, we had some difficulties last time we ball but, you know, we finally got a chance to get back together. So how's everything going?

Rob Kelly:

It's good man I was gonna say it feels like we did a show recently but the pub the public just never got to see it man. Yeah, watching the abyss of the missing the point, you know

Rayshawn Buchanan:

that definitely in the head of archives for sure. Like, you know, it's it's an I will not be to say the revolution will be televised and your voices will be heard. So we're happy about that. So let's just get right into it, man. So obviously, you know, we're in the offseason portion of the NFL season, obviously. But now, there's still news that's going on. So we've talked about it on the show already. But you know, Brian Flores obviously got fired by Miami several weeks back on Black Monday. And you know, so obviously, right after he ends up, you know, giving a lot of fight following a lawsuit against the NFL, you know, basically, you know, going to going out there to hiring practices. A few weeks later, fast forward. A few weeks later, he gets hired by Mike Tomlin. You know, up there at Pittsburgh to be the special defensive assistant and linebackers coach, so, you know, what are your thoughts on on the higher bodies?

Rob Kelly:

I mean, obviously, it's a great hire. I mean, Brian Flores is a great defensive mind. Dude, never should have been fired as head coach of the dolphins. I do think it has a little bit of a you know, I got your back type type move where Tom when Tom one is, is he's the only note there's only two black head coaches in the NFL right now. It's him and Robert Saleh right. Those are the only two Yeah, yeah. Cuz they have a call I got fired. Right. Is that right? Yeah. So it's just those two. And I feel like it really was like, You know what, you're right. You're fighting the good fight. And as a, as a fellow African American. I felt like he felt like you're the best man for this job. Plus, it kind of gives a little bit of extra middle finger to the NFL being like, Hey, what's up, I'm hiring this guy. Still. I don't care about any of this other bullshit. He's the right NFL guy. And it's great PR for the Steelers along with it. So I mean, I I think it's a great move for the Steelers. We could talk about Mike's take it a little bit. But I think it's a great move. And I just don't see any. I don't see any drawbacks. If you're the Steelers for this, right? Because you already have you know, the African American head coach who who is a great head coach. And then you take another African American head coach, who is also an amazing coach. So it's like it's just a double win. If you're asking me for the Steelers.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Oh, yeah. I mean, I think Mike you said, it definitely was I got your back brother type of move. And, you know, what's it less we know? He should have had a job, but there is no division again. If you're still debating at this moment, you know, I don't know. I don't know to tell you. You're smoking something that neither one of us ever smoked in our lives. But yeah, it was awesome to see that. I mean, we could get it some might say, you know, Mike, Mike had a really hard take. So we're just gonna touch on right now. You might know more than just everything I do. I read it. We I responded to him. But I I just don't he I think he talks about how Flores will eventually take over for Tomlin. So, but that's what he believes mme Watson wants to play for Florida. So, you know, do you think it actually comes for Washington next couple of

Rob Kelly:

years. So what I said to Mike is, I feel like we've been hearing about Mike Tomlin and leaving for like, 10 years now. So I'm at the point where I'll see it when I believe that man, I feel like Tomlin's Pittsburgh, until he decides he's not in Pittsburgh anymore. A Can you imagine the shitstorm the NFL would get if Tomlin ever actually did get fired? And b I just, you know, I feel like this has been the rumbling for a long time now, like Tomlin's gonna leave Pittsburgh, Tomlin gonna do this was I don't think the guy's going anywhere. But having said that, I think I mean, I definitely see where Mike's coming with with that take, because it is a known fact that Deshaun Watson wants to play for Brian, Flores. That is something that has been publicized before. So I mean, I don't hate the take. I think that there's a lot that needs to happen for that to actually come to fruition. But But I mean, hey, the call to hot take for a reason, right?

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Yeah, no, I mean, let's say I think there's not a Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Steeler fan alive. That would not want that to happen. I think eventually, especially that means you did that you could some wants to in that deal. I know I think for me from a PR standpoint, it might be a nightmare step because because of what's already happening with him. Um, but if you if you asked me you just go from one allegation to another but you know, hey, you know, that

Rob Kelly:

NFL style brothers what they do

Rayshawn Buchanan:

you know, so Lia, don't be mad at me. But Congratulations on the wedding but yeah, no interest that's just what it would be like it'd be for one allegation, but that was sexual so to another one so even though it was multiple, but let's say it probably doesn't happen Listen, they've only had three head coaches in there. There's they're all franchise history. You know, Chuck Knoll, and then you know, Bill Cower now my Tom. So they are the model of consistency, which is what I love about that, you know, I love about that franchise, even though I'm a Patriots fan, but as I listen, it's okay to have that for that long way. I'm thankful to have the owner and Robert Kraft that chose I mean, granted, winning winning matters, but, you know, to say, You know what, yeah, there was a rough patch early on, but you didn't you didn't give him the hook, you know, early on when you could have right um, you know, you chose to stick it out and say, you know, you chose to coach over and over again so, yeah, I mean, I think I would like to see that transition it'd be cool to see that goes never go from Florence to Tom. I mean from Thomas Tomlin to all to Flores but either way to me to actually find a way to get this shot wasn't there. Honestly, I just think that he would be you know, it ain't Dwayne, Haskins it damn sharain You know, Mason Rudolph, you know, the film I did out there does anyone in the job that can come in right now and be like, if I survive there's not a shot because some of the guys that may be coming out but there's no one that's coming out that would be better than yourself watching right now in my opinion. So but you know, another thing that we talked about off of off the air, you know, how do you think how do you think this hiring affects his his last ticket? Obviously, you know, we know they put the lawsuit out there so you know, doesn't add or change by him, which is like a sell off that he took a job so early,

Rob Kelly:

though, I mean, if anything, I think it supports his lawsuit. I mean, this guy went from winning. What was it seven of his last eight games with the dolphins? A team a team that had no business being anywhere near 500 won the reason they were was Brian forests to being hired. As a linebackers coach, not even a D coordinator. As a linebacker that's what he is. That's what he is he lined up both Terrell Austin's he just got promoted as I think it is gonna be like kind of like a co coordinator type deal. But even still, even still, you will get Brian for is a dude who should have been the number one contender for almost every head coaching vacancy that was out there, and there really shouldn't have been a discussion about it. He got hired as a linebackers coach. You know what I mean? Like you look at this guy's track record, it doesn't show linebackers coach, it doesn't show defensive assistant, it shows on the head coach in the NFL. Yeah. And the fact that he's not and that he had to get relegated to a linebackers coach almost as a as a as a favor. You know what I mean? That's kind of what this seemed like, is it like, it seemed like a like you said, Hey, bro, I got your back. I know what you do with football teams. I know who you are. I know the kind of skills you have. And I know you're getting the short end of the stick here. So why don't you come on staff? Why don't we show everyone how awesome you are as a D coordinator as a football mind and and give the NFL the middle finger? You know what I mean? It's just a really I think it helps us case a lot because there's no reason that Brian Flores should be linebackers coach in the NFL. A man that man is a head coach. Period is what he is.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Yeah, no, I listen, couldn't couldn't agree more. I just think I just know how petty the NFL and other you know teams can be so I just feel like putting them maybe Pittsburgh is officiated differently next year, like also Remember The Titans type shit. Like, I just felt like I could see that happening as Oh, no, like, you know, it's just you know, it's atmosphere like no, like, there's no, it's not a coincidence. Like, there's certain calls are being made in Mason

Rob Kelly:

Rudolph's gonna throw football someone's nuts. Oh, no, it's longer shots. It's longer shot.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

What? Whoa, what do I did? If he does do that? That'd be miles Garrett. I'd say that. It would be a problem. But no, I mean, I think the reason why he got that title, I said, listen, he is gonna be corny. Let's be real. So the cool thing, Keith Keith Butler, who was there forever in Pittsburgh, you know, he was there forever, just like a little boy was there forever. I think he voted retired after this after the season. So that that's why so it would have looked bad to be like, oh, like another guy that's been here. We're not going to promote him as I put that in air quotes. You know, we're just going to give it sense of Flores like, that's what it really is. Like, they know what the deal is behind the scenes like he's got he's gonna be the same color. I'm TJ, whiners guy. She's been super excited to be playing under him for sure. Mike, Minka Fitzpatrick, they should all be you know, just ready to run through a wall you know, for him for him on defense. So they were already phenomenal and superstar on defense. So I expect them to go to another level, you know, on under his coaching. And what it was like said but we talked about maybe it does become, you know, a pipeline of So, any any last words on that before we touch on some college basketball news?

Rob Kelly:

Now, man, I mean, just that, like you said, like I like we both said this dude's the head coach in the NFL. Yeah. And that's that's a proven point and the fact that he's not. It's still just blasphemous to me. But yeah, no,

Rayshawn Buchanan:

great. So yeah, so now so let's say we don't we don't touch on too much college basketball. If we do. We're usually two of the three people got ODK was on. Oh, so last time we talked about March Madness. This is not talking about March Madness. It is madness. But it's not we're not in March yet.

Rob Kelly:

We're almost there. Almost. Almost almost there almost last season, but it's time for me to go into my cave for three. Yeah, yeah, exactly. You know,

Rayshawn Buchanan:

watch a little clock Kellogg. And all those guys it has been it's gonna be awesome. But man Juwan Howard Fab Five. Sides house finest. I'm a lot fit. But like, the situation was not funny, man. You know, but the question I want to ask like, you know, I'm sure you saw to finish but, you know, did you you know, what do you think happened? Obviously, they're gonna say what they say in the media. But what do you think was sad for him to even get to that to that point? Because that was That was wild to see what he did. I guess that was the coach. So just what was your initial reaction to that? Go to that punch on the sideline.

Rob Kelly:

I mean, okay, so I don't want to ever say it was wasn't warranted. You know what I mean? Like no head coach ever, in any sport, should be throwing punches, man. If anything, you're the one who should be holding back the punches. You're the one who should be setting the example that, you know, no matter the situation, no matter what's happening, you cannot lose your cool. Alright, that is the message that all head coaches everywhere needed to be pushing. At the same time. I don't disagree with a man. I don't disagree. I honestly I agree that the timeout that was called was absolute horseshit. That game was over. And it never should have been called in the first place. All right. So if that doesn't happen, right, that fight never happens. And I get it, you know, you play to the ends of the whistle you play no matter what. But at the same time is like, okay, it gets to a point where it's like, alright, what, what is the altercations that could happen? And what are the repercussions that can happen? And me, I don't know. What's your take on it? Because I'm in the middle of it, like, yes. Juwan Howard, not thrown that goddamn punch. But should have even been in that situation to begin with?

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Well, yeah, I didn't I didn't get the premise. I mean, I he the coach for Wisconsin talked about all you know, we had backups and you know, they were they had we had a Muhammad lift the price. But my bro, you're up 12 But like, 20 seconds. Like, it's not that serious, bro. Like, it's just not like, even if they did turn the ball over a couple of times, but you're still look fibers thing. Like it's cool. It's not, this is not going to be a team Mac. You know, it gets dispersed Hyperborea that's not happening. No one on Michigan is gonna score 13 points in 32 seconds. Like that's not how this was gonna go down. So I think he was wanting to just say that gets in Michigan, you know, because, you know, big term rival you know, it was you know, their rank. They're not and you know, college basketball in any other sport when it comes to upsets because they they stormed the court, you know, it gets rowdy and it gets intense. And that that's that's what I think happened now. Oh, before I give more analysis on it, I just thought it was funny. I forgot who said this. The sweet but I'm still laughing about it today. But to say they had a picture of one and said well, I guess Michigan still having trouble with times

Rob Kelly:

got a shot at Mr. Webb.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

I say I said Damn it like I'm like this is this that should not be that funny. But I'm I'm like five, four or five days later. I'm still I still thought that that was just it was it was perfect. It was it was perfect timing the person who truly is definitely a dick but whatever it was, it was so it's like Yeah, it's true, but like you said, Man, you got you got to keep your cool man. You got to you can't I guess to get up for your players. I guide that was the case. I'm with you while you stick up for your players. But you can't be on there looking like Jeff Van Gundy. Remember that tape in the late 90s When he's he's talking on a lot some morning because they can't pack a fourth like this. This was and I think Joe might have been down there. So it I don't know maybe he's just just to be in scrims he's used to be in that that that guy but let's say you can't as a leader of men, and it's really a leader young men that that you know you you can't you can't do that on a deeper level. They just started so we notice the Fab Five again. Just started to sew on us. Have them went down with assignments to the network, Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Jimmy K Ray Jackson, like, they just really started to get around some technology. And the first step was making Jim want to head coach. So it's just like, Oh, it's so much there's so much more than just what happened in the moment. It's a ripple effect as now, people have already looking to dog your fat fiber and continue to discredit them, you know, almost 30 years later, this gave them more ammunition. You know, that, that that send me is also another thing that kind of gets lost in translation. That's unfortunate, you know, but it isn't what it is. But, you know, I'll ask you about the suspension. And then we can move on with anything else you want to add. But, you know, did you take the five game rip was, you know, was was sufficient? Yeah.

Rob Kelly:

Yeah, it was. If it this was a first time offense. If he had never done anything like this before. I would say maybe you let them go with a slap on the wrist because, you know, oh, seven boys will be boys. You know, like people talking shit. Things happen. But this isn't the first time Juwan Howard has done something like that. So last year, ended the big 10 championship game. He had to be restrained from going after who's coaching Maryland, Mark Mark Terje on or mark Turner's guy. So this isn't without precedent that something like this has happened. So I think you had to suspend. You don't fire him for this. Because, you know, like I said, Boys will or men will be mad boys will be boys. Competition happens. Alright, the way it started, to me is is why he didn't get fired. Because all he was doing he was going through the handshakes. And he just he just mentioned to the coach, you know, I'll remember that. That could have stopped it right there. You know what I mean? Like the coach could have been like, Yeah, okay. kept walking. That's not what happened. That's when I think his name is guard. Put his hands on Howard. And however I have to say though, Howard came through with the washi his punch. If that if that's not a basketball punch, man. I don't know what is.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

It's also it's also he's been retired, like more of like a push,

Rob Kelly:

you know, is more of

Rayshawn Buchanan:

his hay day.

Rob Kelly:

You think he was coming in with a haymaker? Yeah, for

Rayshawn Buchanan:

sure. For sure. For sure. What's he saw Chicago? He is, you know, what's the next Chicago came on to him on on Sunday? That's what? Like, that's exactly what happened. It was like, oh, like, oh, you try. You tested me. Cool. Let's, you want to find out how real I am cool. I got Wait, no, wait, no further. I got you. And that's what happened. And I also stayed because, you know, obviously, he's tall enough. But, you know, when you're not, it was almost like a registered lightweight. He just he just sent me said, Oh, your day like, it wasn't even. It went right back to, you know, which we know what happens in the city. It's like, we, you, you, you you start hitting before you ask other questions. In this case, a question was asked, it was an answer. And you still, if so, if it's like a wedding band, like what do we, what are we doing? But, you know, to your point about? Maybe if it wasn't without precedent, then you would give him you would you know, you wouldn't give you what he gave a slap on the wrist. Honestly, I think the five year special was a slap on the wrist on his head. And the reason why I say that, when I when I saw the video and once again, um, you know, I noticed this Black History Month like, oh my god, I said, you caught it on video in 2022 It's over. He's done. He's fired. Like, I'd have to. I was like, it's over. Because I'm just like, dead. And that was that was like Mark field, or, you know, Roy Williams or Coach K or whatever. They're like, Oh, you know, it's an unfortunate event. But you know, it just I was thinking of everything, you know, the usual narrative. I thought for sure. Because when I saw people like Jay Bellis and

Rob Kelly:

exec the T word was gonna get dropped the thug. You thought SOG was going down?

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Yeah, all all. I saw man, obviously. Yeah, I thought for sure we go. Dun, dun dun and not a breaking news. Juwan Howard has been relieved of his duties at University of Michigan a member of the Fab Five that I like, yeah, I would. I was ready for that headline. I was more fired up about it the other day when we initially was going to talk about it, but I was just like, oh my god, like this is this this is this is crazy. But yeah, so I said the five to five years to me was it was a slap on the wrist because I expected them to say hey, you know what, you know, thanks for no thanks. You know, hopefully this doesn't mess up all of the fat five because once again, C Webb Jalen Rose Jimmy King Ray Jackson deserves to be honored. Not just by college basketball, but definitely University of Michigan. They put Steve Fisher on they put that school on. People wasn't wearing her rock she's before Fab Five. It wasn't long shows a college basketball four to five five like David wasn't shaving their heads before the Fab Five like from a cultural Standard. point they mean so much to the game of basketball. You got to give them that just do you just do Regardless though how you felt about that situation? I just think that you know, hopefully that that is to get lost and shuffle because I said you you can't you can't erase what they did out of out of history. It's just that simple. So any any anything else on that before we get into? Also weekend man?

Rob Kelly:

Nah man The only thing I have to say is I'm just happy they didn't fire him because it could have divided the college basketball and in the college basketball landscape so fast and become such a bigger story than it really needed to be so I'm happy didn't go with what your gut initially was. Because I think that would have just created so much unnecessary. So much unnecessary. What's the word I'm looking for? drama, drama Yeah, drama for college basketball. This is not necessary you know what I mean? The five game suspension slap on the wrist less let's just get to March Madness and see what happens we don't we don't need we don't need the NFL press really anywhere else in sports you know what I mean? Like that that's just not not the direction we want it to go. So I'm happy that they made the decision they didn't give them that five game suspension

Rayshawn Buchanan:

right Yeah, exactly. You know that's a really we got that so all from one thing that was madness to another thing that was madness but for the for the wrong week or whatever else also the wrong reasons but All Star Weekend man before I get my thoughts is what what was your ball style we can overall

Rob Kelly:

so I liked I liked the three point contest. I liked seeing cat win. I honestly I liked the three point contest every year. Always have always well. Everything else was hot garbage that we can then this I don't even want to call it a slam dunk contest. Because that was the most outrageous horrendous slam dunk contest I've ever seen in my entire life. I don't think I knew one person that was in it. And I consider myself like a pretty hardcore NBA fan. You know what I mean? And it just it just seems like every year the names get worse and worse. Then the all star game which Yeah, it ended Nice. That was cool. Steph Curry going off was amazing. But it felt like he was the only one that was really trying in that game for some reason. Luca Don sheets I don't know what happened to him in that game and he was just jogging for four quarters. I don't know that they found something cool with this whole you know two captains pick your team's that whole day like that. That's That's an awesome thing to do. And the way that they had it set up past couple years really worked. But for some reason this year I don't know what it was man but it lost me the only thing that kept my attention all weekend was three point challenge. I don't know about you, how do you feel?

Rayshawn Buchanan:

What do I why I bought a mother gate for most of the weekend. So I missed a lot of it but I'll start with the seven contest you got to get actual stars back into this approach.

Rob Kelly:

You have to doesn't it doesn't mean honestly it doesn't even need to be stars.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

No it does because okay, it's just the result the results and so you can give a rebuttal if you have what because we grew up on McGregor we went out with the Dominic MJ era but most of most people that are considered the 2000 nonconscious would be the best of all time. Who was in the Richardson don't know that that's that's before right before So Vince Carter, Steve Francis T Mac FF II what a fourth person wasn't there but so you had you had you had those don't you had on us there was no stars in there you know doing some of that did the dude you know the guy you just brought up Jay rich right Jay said we're just saying back to back years got that listen that between the legs East Bay don't listen and I know I listen I get it those are listening to a little bit older than us I've ever woodenboat Jr. Writer I listened Jr Isaiah I listen I get it he was the original I tasted British says took that dog and he went too late he turned it up just just enough where he threw it off the glass and if it's too late at listen I'm sorry it's better I'm sorry about I'm like you could go back and saw YouTube you could watch it on that oh to dunk contest think about guys like desperate Mason right that's where Mason kid kids could jump out the building on even the inner Fred Jones 104 Like Fred Jones was doing stuff going charity

Rob Kelly:

Joe at Joe Joe Green that year

Rayshawn Buchanan:

general agree you don't say it's just like well you got to you got to get guys that aren't you know that just aren't a game Duncan that's why I love it. Everyone's like getting to where they ask them you know what do you think you'll get into contact us? I look man I'm in game guy. I like dunking on people. I say yeah, you know I feel I feel you. We're not going to do all this in the air. I get that dude the people are nice. Give me over the top in his his judge do dad duck he went up and they run back over there like over jump over to God that was crazy. Um, also the Moto 360 having a ball of subsidized docket that's hard to do and I get it that we're not i people just too many attempts as we had done I get that you should get a zero after three attempts am I paying off the two it sounds I'm saying like they used to do or just give you a 30 like they used to be in the past but we need our star so Jama rig issue out there. Fuck all that oh, I need a million dollars come on, bro. You already get my bread just just come up there. You're you're someone that people want to see. Yeah, I mean, I say I don't think there was someone to do it but he's someone that should be out there. Ah. I'd like to be topping out the open top witnesses a hell of a dunk I like Yeah, so it's just like, you know, f&e Simon's even though he did he did do well for cicada roller. He definitely has sort of bounce co Anthony send me. Yeah, he's not really a dunker. It was cool to see that they able to Tim's but I'm just like, Bro last night. You know, I'm a UFC guy, but I'm like, bro, like, you're, he's gonna kick someone in the game. Off adrenaline. He's not someone that's gonna be out there doing windmills, like he's gonna be on a fad break. Catchy for an one like Derrick Rose like that. That is sometimes just called Anthony's type of game. So I get why he was in there. But once again, if you can't get guys in there, it's a problem. So I just sent me it's just It's wild. It's really wild. That they don't want to get these people in there. But you know, you brought her Steph Curry. Listen, man, you know, just when you thought it was safe. I don't care if it's all star game. 16 Fucking threes, bro. 1616, bro. I'm like I said, I said this guy is on another level. And I mean, damn. You know, I think that Trey young might have been next and he's had three years and looking at Trey young like you got a long way to go, buddy. Yeah, go all the way to go.

Rob Kelly:

My favorite part about stuff. So actually, before I go to stuff, so I just want to go back to the dunk contest for a second. And and yes, Obi toppin was was impressive. He was the only one to me that really stood out. I was like, Okay, this guy can put on a show. When you look back at the top dunk contest, right? This used to be this is why I'm just so disappointed at where this event has ended up. This used to be the the mecca of All Star Weekend. You know what I mean? This was bigger than the game. The slam dunk contest, right you look at I'm just gonna read it right off the left we crypto Nate vs. Superman in 2009. Nate Robinson beating out Dwight Howard and dunk contest. One of the best dunk contests you'll ever see. Give a five foot nine guy beating out someone who who is the defending dunk champion. Amazing, right? Then you go to Jordan versus Dominique in 88. That's all you need to say. You know what that is? Alright. Then you have Dwight Howard. Like I just said the 2008 Dwight Howard. Right. I pretty sure Dunk from the free throw line. Right?

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Yeah, that I mean that that's that's that's crazy. Crazy.

Rob Kelly:

Unbelievable. Right? Unbelievable. Right? Then you have the number two this is the one that stands out to me man. I will never forget this night as long as I live. The 2016 dunk contest between Aaron Gordon and Zack Levine to me. I know that the one ahead of this was amazing just because of who he was, what he did, and how amazing it was. But those two guys put on probably the best 45 minutes to an hour of entertainment at the dunk contest has seen since those Dominique Jordan days man from from the guy the mascot doing spinning on the roller skates and brug. Unbelievable that that whole dunk contest was wild. Then number one, one that'll never be touched. Then Saturday we already brought it up. Just just going absolutely berserk doing things in an era that were just unheard of like the legs, the balls through the legs dunk that just seems routine now was

Rayshawn Buchanan:

I was open to dunk. His opening dog

Rob Kelly:

right the opening dunk and it was unthinkable at the time that someone would get that much air and have that much time to do what he was doing in the air. It was just it was unheard of right. Fast forward to now where your best your best name, your biggest name in the dunk contest. One has the most aesthetic skills as someone that probably three to four out of 10 NBA fans would know and really only like the diehard ones like if you walk down the street And you went somewhere you're like go who's OB topping 80% of people aren't. I have no idea. So it's just exactly like you said, You got to get the names in there, man because you look through this list and it's like, what do you what do you realize? name after name after name of people that you recognize and know and are all stars enter that caliber of play.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

But don't you only wonder missing before we move on to the subjects? I'm only one day missing on that. You might have said it. I might have missed you say oh nine but, uh, the first conscious na 106 in Houston. So you understand her when he made with dolla was going back and forth? Yeah. Andre Iguodala. So the one that I know there's some people that will listen to this and will probably leave a comment on Tik Tok and say, Rayshawn you're out of your mind. That's cool. You can say so. I thank you for listening. All Andre Iguodala one. When he threw that ball, he threw it off the glass over the table underneath, underneath the rim and dumped it and cleared it without without touching his head. I said, bro, I was like this, this this guy got it. But Nate Nate one because he jumped over spiderweb you know? And you know, once again, the entertainment factor. He that's Nate Nate understood that. Joe Green was the birthday cake dunk. Right? Remember that? So

Rob Kelly:

good. So good. Puts the birthday blow the candle,

Rayshawn Buchanan:

the candle? That was crazy. Even a duck he had when he jumped off vert and his socks and his socks. He also there's just there's so many different moments. You remember, it was like even even on the one that Kobe won in Cleveland, right? You know, Kobe, young Ray Allen and people saw Ray Allen relevant you'd actually get up there and it's early days it wasn't someone that's always joined threes and

Rob Kelly:

he wasn't always shooting those beautiful floaters yet.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Yeah, wasn't he that like right reality and his early days had had some bunnies attached to him. Kobe did too obviously. Eddie Jones so yeah, like you know we can we can go on and on and on and that but you know so there's a we kind of talked about it but you know, you've got it sussed out and you want to elaborate it as we close this segment out what what's one thing you add to it maybe next year's All Star game to me even going forward to you know to bring back the fans more

Rob Kelly:

Mike doc man, that was my favorite part of the whole weekend. You should make up every single player that is on that court. Dude a lot like the baseball All Star game does where they almost have interviews in the middle of the game and shit like that. Really get inside those players had because my favorite part of the weekend was watching Steph Curry miked up and and and knowing how well he was playing, hitting this three, and turning to the fans behind him and going yo what's the record? What's the record for NBA All Star points like that shit?

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Did it go into the going did it right?

Rob Kelly:

I love that shit. Give me more of that. Like, the more interaction the more dialogue you hear between the players it makes because the all star game is an exhibition that's what it is. It's a glorified a glorified Shrek game of basketball. You know what I mean? And and to hear the interaction between the players and hear, you know, those like them talking shit to each other and hearing all these things would make the game so much better to me that that's the number one thing I would put in the game. More miked up, give me that all day.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Yeah, you know, I'll listen, I'll share that same sentiment. I think that's awesome. Like say it gives more insight to what the players are thinking in that moment. And it's always different in the huddle than it is when they get on to the court. What's different on the court as to the huddle, so or even in a locker room. Right. Also to the last thing I thought about tubes. This was something I would add, but I love that video that went viral with Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson. You imagine? Tell me MJ telling them hey, yo, man you want to one right now. Imagine you're laughing golfer he was serious and let's test it dead. Serious like man just turned 59 years old last week. He was like yo, he said after give you buckets right, man, I thought that that was one of the highlights of the school today honored. Your MBA 75 of Cleveland swag vendor, that's one of the MBA 50 was there too. So that was awesome to see. It was cool to see, you know, Salters and you know, some of the guys that played that weekend will be when they come in 2047 for the NBA 100

Rob Kelly:

So I have two quick things about the NBA 75 So first non Celtics related What's up a car Whoa, whoa, what was that whole thing? I don't so my lips so am I what news story did I

Rayshawn Buchanan:

decide new apparently, or even a parent? Well, apparently allegedly, whatever whatever you want to use when he was at Louisiana Tech and at some before he came out that he was either an activist Want to use old apparently? Or allegedly here got a 13 year old are pregnant and Louisiana? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Right. Yeah. So it was like, Oh, it was like, oh shit. So that that's what they were saying when when they talk about Chrome alone. It shouldn't be. But yeah, should have been from behind bars. So Sunday I said, Okay. Yeah, I mean, I'd heard about that a while ago, I said, I didn't know if there was any, you know, really validity to it. And then again, it was never really ever denied either. So that's also equally as scary, but that's a whole nother, you know, conversation for another day. But yeah, so that that's that's what that that's what that meme was about. I can't even say What a joke comes up. There's not the funny about it. But that's that's exactly what happened, unfortunately.

Rob Kelly:

Well, the main joke, not that that's a joke. You

Rayshawn Buchanan:

don't and I'm not but no, but I agree. It shouldn't be shouldn't be from behind bars. It should have been they should

Rob Kelly:

quit. And then the Cleveland stadium is within 200 feet of an elementary school. And that's why Cago on wasn't allowed to attend this era.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Right? Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Right. Or the one. The other one that got me to that was like, they shouldn't have booth Steph Curry, but they went to introduce them. And it was like, you know, he he's on job before. And actually, he's from Ohio. He's from Ohio. Yeah, so he's from Akron as well, too. So that's hilarious.

Rob Kelly:

And then the other way for him and the other one from the NBA. 75 for her. I thought kg Pierce and Alan made up. Did you see that?

Rayshawn Buchanan:

tunics to an extent to an extent. I was surprised they got the picture.

Rob Kelly:

Legit was like,

Rayshawn Buchanan:

huh, yeah. I don't know. What was what, like, what is it gonna take? Because it's just like, parasite, a parasite that he's looking at. Right? Good. We do it. He's like, No, it's Oh, it's overgrown. It's over. It's like it's over. Yup. Every time. You're all three go on the Hall of Fame. Don't let it go. It's over. It's over. We're rolling. And it's okay. Like, it's okay. kg. It's all right. And I get it. There's a part of me that luck was it to an extent but it's like no, like, you didn't give him an array? Yeah, Ray got one without you. Okay, okay. That's sucks. All right. Yup. All three of y'all should have been to type champion two. All right, would have been three to the left, but it's just like I get it. I get it.

Rob Kelly:

Anniversary. Speaking of which. quick tangent, sorry. anniversary today. Before we move on to saltex where I was some Celtics history. 2000 When did we win? Oh, nine. We won. Oh, wait. Oh, wait. Oh, wait. So 2010. Today is the anniversary of the trade that sunk our 2010 Championship hopes? Or was it 2011 Championship parts 1011 Championship hopes were we traded Kendrick Perkins and Jeff for Jeff Green. And it came up on my timeline today and I thought I saw it and thought of you instantly was a guy I need to bring this up tonight.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

And I mean, obviously Hindsight is 2020. So I get what Danny Ainge was thinking obviously that in that moment, in that moment, we don't you don't feel that way because it was like wait a minute, like, we know that starting a fight, never lost a series never to this day, so it's like, Isn't his like that started five of Rondo Ray Pierce kg in a park. Never last slide. That's, that's a fact. If any DDA saw how the NBA was going. And he saw he's like, you need the another athletic wing. If you're going to compete with the Miami's in the world, and he was involved a piece the piece the guidance was a Jeff Green though. Yeah. Even though even though they dropped him a few years before, right. They jumped in number five and they traded for Barry Allen. I just think they he just wasn't it wasn't the right fit. You know, he has some great games in Boston. I think his best game was against Miami. It actually

Rob Kelly:

had that game winner in the corner.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

No, no, no, no that that that's that was the that was the next year but the year before when he had 43 I guess Miami libreria at the game winner on that because that's that's what Miami won like 27 in a row that you had in 2012 2013 year when they won the second ring in a row. But yeah, no, I remember the game winner in Miami. That would that was great. Hell of a passenger. Oh, Wallace. That's a new job you think you hear and it's only 22. So, but before we get into selfish talk, let's hear a word from our sponsor skilless.

Rob Kelly:

took the words out of my mouth.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Right? Alright, so yeah, so, you know, gotta get gotta get into some soft, soft man. You know Dave, Dave, Dave played extremely well as of late, you know, as a guide, as I guide DK said do they become rewatchable? Again? You know, and they have been you know, they've come in tonight you know when there's not an unsettling corners on on Thursday night. So just in your mind, you know, in your in your you know, put all your analysts cap, you know what, what is what is the goal right for this team over over this stretch,

Rob Kelly:

defense period, best best defense in the NBA over this 11 game stretch. And that's not even, that's not even a debate to be had. That is just pure fact. There's multiple analysts around the NBA right now that are calling the Celtics which defense because that's what they are, every single person on that court can cover any person that comes at them. And that's what me has been going for. And multiple analysts around the NBA are calling their defense, not just good, not just great, but dominant. But dominant in there, honestly, when you take so the biggest the biggest thing to me that really changed everything around is when they stopped taking Rob. When when they stopped locking Robin underneath the hoop, and started letting him actually roam on the outside a little bit and played a lot more switch D with Rob, because when you have someone like Rob Williams, just working around the entire court, knowing that any shot that goes up could get blocked. Knowing that you know what I mean? Like you have this guy who's just a defensive mastermind, roaming the court at all times is just unbeatable at this point. And the only way I've seen anyone beat it is with the most athletic stretch fours that you could possibly think of. And not many teams in the NBA had that right now. So I think this defense man is really what turned the corner for us. And that move taking Rob out from underneath the basket and letting him roam the court was so big man. The defense that you've seen in the last 11 games is as defense that can win a championship graduate, we need to hit her goddamn shots to do so. But if we keep playing defense like we do, I think we have a shot to get out of the east and you know what I mean? Like this is obviously very pro Celtics and very positive thinking But would that defense man we have a shot now saying it's gonna happen. But we have a shot?

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Well, I think the defense probably really all yours with the most consistent thing. And even Honestly,

Unknown:

even though we were you know, we'd

Rayshawn Buchanan:

all have fell off early on because you know, we were pissed off our thing is one day, you know, that bulls lost and that sentence on your last meal stick out amongst amongst their bad losses that a year. But even in those games, there was a big, so it was like, it shows you like yo, like they they could dominate whenever they feel like it's just a matter of are you going to stick to the habits that got you to the dance. And right now they're doing that, you know, I said, you know, we're recording the birthday. I don't know, if I was four, but there was smacking Brooklyn, you know, as we got onto the progress. So, you know, it's right now it's 10 out of 10 out of 11 wins, you know, but yeah, so besides that defense,

Rob Kelly:

129 to 1060,

Rayshawn Buchanan:

beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, you love you love to see it. And, you know, I just think to me, you know, teams are barely cracking 100 You know, for the most part. And these are teams that full shots, not a full shot like, like, you know, that little stretch before before the break when they got through Denver, Atlanta again, and B was there. So it wasn't like also like, no, these guys are out there. And they were given given them the business. So and I said they're handling business against teams, they're supposed to bow. That's the biggest thing that they weren't doing that early in the year. All they were like teams hanging around, which is kind of what happened in the toy game, too, right? And if that's gonna happen, I love the fact that they came back with this focus could have been very easy to lose this game. Because tonight, you know, even though they added on Steph Curry and RJ Drummond, it'd be very easy for them to, you know, to lay down and kind of keep the minute but, you know, they've made sure that there was no, there was no doubt that they were going to win this game, but they shouldn't be Detroit again on Saturday, in my opinion, you know, the Troy plays them pretty hard, as you mentioned, you know, we speak off the show, but yeah, I'm sorry. But ya know, it is it is but but beside besides the defense, I gotta say this, the balls move that has been the biggest, you know, biggest difference from that, you know, they, you know, the ball that does not stick, you know, and, you know, they're trusting the officers, they're trusting that the next man is going to make the play and understanding that oh, okay, if I get it back to someone, so I may get it back and then I get a wide open through I get a wider layup. And you know, and I'm sure you know, the next thing too, you know, outside of the ballroom with a defense. They're finally healthy. Finally healthy you know, other teams have been healthy throughout the year, which is why their records have been but they've been, you know, we've always had somebody out. So now that we, you know, have have a rotation set, we have our health in order for the most part, the most has been really in a few years. You know, they're showing, hey, we're on par with anyone else, not just in the east but in the NBA. So, you know, but you know, to add on to that, you know, what is your thoughts been? Because we haven't been also strange happened. You know, what are we what were your thoughts? Or what has been your thoughts or impressions so far on Derrick white,

Rob Kelly:

whatever, love everything about a man, the way he plays basketball is exactly what he was looking for. You know, it's no, no coincidence that he came from San Antonio where me came from that he has the same mindset that me hat and plus, I don't even think adding Derrick White was really the biggest addition versus getting rid of Dennis Schroder was a big addition lesson I got that he is a good two point guard. He he's good as your second point guard, but at the same time, man, I had had it with Dennis Schroder either doing one of polar opposite things, okay. He was either we're going to eight oh run, be pushing the ball be doing awesome. Dennis Schroder would just slow the game down to a point where everyone's just standing around on offense, and that's when the Celtics get into trouble. That's when they start watching the game. That's when they don't move the ball. That's when you see ISO Jayson and ISO Brown, and all these bad habits start to come. Or we'd be on a run. And you be the guy. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. And then Dennis Schroder pulls up from 34 feet with 18 seconds on the shot clock and you're like bro, what universe are you on? So to me to take up a shoot point, a shoot first point guard or a point guard he likes to slow things down who likes to have the ball in his hands versus Derrick White, who is a known playmaker known defensive mastermind I keep using masking my no defensive prowess and and can hit Open threes. It just seems like the trade from a point guard who who is everything the Celtics have been doing wrong for the past two years to a point guard or guard, who is everything the Celtics should be doing right. And everything that we should be playing like, to me is a huge difference. From the moment Derrick White showed up, man, that first game he was on the court. He had looked for three years, you could see a different attitude in the game because that type of thing is contagious. You know, I mean, absolutely is especially with this team. I don't know how many times we've seen the Celtics kind of feed off each other when it comes to bad habit. Do you know what I mean? Like especially Jayson and Jaylen, once one starts to die, so the other one starts to die so they just start staring at each other and they start playing hero ball and it really is a contagious thing. You bring in Derrick White who who doesn't have that mindset? Who has the mindset of let's move the ball? Let's let's let's be playmakers here guys, and you can see it just take over the team. I think Derrick White's a huge move. He's not an all star. He's not an All Pro. But I think he does way more than what the measurable show.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Right. So add thanks. So that kind of adds on so we've got a new clamoring the last couple of years have been on the show, right? Because obviously, you know, we've all individually or collectively had takes on the goal like maybe split the 10 them up and, you know, basically because you know we grew frustrated with the product grew frustrated with how they were playing. And say we were maybe you know you move off one of them and, you know, majority of the show was picking Jaylen Brown over over Jayson Tatum. So you know, Mike and DK, I really hope that you change your mind about that, because Jayson Tatum has been nothing short of phenomenal video over the last six to seven weeks of Jaylen has to, and I think they finally figured out like Oh, word word, the SuperS play a little for most nights. But let's let's act like it. And I think you know, they've gotten angry what to talk about, oh, split us up do this do that. And I don't know if you saw the podcast with him and JJ Reddick. You know, we're Tatum talked about, you know, I don't know why so many people want just him to break up like, we're both under 25 Still, or 25. And under still, you know, it was like, you know, the grass is not always greener. And I thought that was a direct shot at us. Because, and I'm glad he said it for this, like, wait a minute like this, you know, it's easy to overreact in the moment and granted, they they gave us reason to be pissed off. So I want to be fair about that. But it was it was fair and accurate. So you'd be upset with their play with the effort. But you know, now I said they've seen to buy to buy into what's going on, and trusting the process. You know, no pun intended. So, you know, I just love to see what I've seen from them. I hope it is these to continue to grow. I just think Derrick White is an example of if you put the right players around him of Brown, you're going at least to the Congress folks at least, and I know the goal is to get to the finals and win it. But you're going at least at a conference finals if you get more players like that that gets around the edge it gets around Jayson and Jana with you need more playmakers around them you guys can shoot it around them they've become willing playmakers now you can see that there's no there's no more there's no more like well, I don't know if Jayson's gonna pat on jealous go past they have shown now over the last couple of months that you know, they're they're going to lose a ball and now with someone like Derrick white and then you got Derrick White and Marcus Smart being those primary ball handlers, you know, Al Horford Socata as a secondary a secondary playmaker Rob Williams is a phenomenal passer so you know you want to miss you want to make sure they keep doing that but you got to keep surrounding them with guys that one know their role right that they're right knows his role. That's that's what makes it even better shooter rightfully so was looking to get pasted. I don't blame. I don't when I'm forever grateful for 38 He had to guess Milwaukee, he was sensational. That night. You know, there's a few games that we went to one without him this year. So I let's just call a spade a spade. So I'm thankful for the contributions. Was it erratic at times? Absolutely. Was it something where you scratch your head and try to pull up your hair? Absolutely. But there was still some games that we would not have won without his contributions off the bench or even as a starter. So for that, Dennis, we say thank you, and wish you the best of you finish the debris in Houston. NBR. All that being said, Guys, I'm excited for this, this last one in two games. So what do you think is a realistic, you know, win loss record to close out the regular season?

Rob Kelly:

I think if we I don't want to do records because I'm not great with numbers. But I think if we can get to the thirds for 34 seat, we get homefield in that first in that first round. I'll be happy with our regular season. I got I gotta say, though, going back to what you were saying about surrounding Jayson and Jalen with the right talent, man, I think that's something that we never really are. By we I mean, new Celtics fans never really gave that the opportunity to actually happen. You look at everything that's happened, we went from Kyrie just, we don't even need to open that can of worms. We know what happened there to your next point guard have pretty much the same kind of player just not as great of a passer and Kemba. Walker, right, another shoot for his point guard. Then you have Dennis Schroder, another shoot first point guard, noticing a trend here. Finally, we have someone who actually, it doesn't matter if he has a ball, if he's playing off ball. If he's playing on ball. He is the same player regardless, and he will look for other people to get their shot before he gets his. And he will look for the right play, rather than the most spectacular play or look for his open shot or look for these things that that just haven't been there before. So I think just having the right guys around Jaylen and Jayson is such a key piece and something we haven't seen yet. So I completely agree with you. They're also going back to Jaylen and Jayson, if there's two people that have been on the show, you guys are absolutely out of your mind. If you think it's a good idea to break Jaylen and Jayson. And if you do, I promise you five to 10 years from now, we're going to be looking back at this error and being like, I can't believe we let one of them go. And that's been mean you from day one. Be like Listen, guys, you don't know what you have. Alright, you don't know how special these two are. And if we let one of them go, I promise you, we will realize how special they are. And it's not going to be an excitable and excitable realization. I can promise you that. Alright, we've seen it with Sagan. We've seen it so many other times in Boston sports where someone leaves Boston who is a superstar go somewhere else and we're just out here wishing that we were a bed post in their bed while they're making lunch somewhere alright, that's happening multiple times.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Pretty much no but even Chad also that because he even though I did have that that same thought to do even even then if I did go a little further even if you do break them up I would say you've got to keep Tatum you got to contain him. If you were going to break him take him to the guy you have to keep all that to me he was the parents of Brown was Dancehall Walker, and that's okay brown brown that was Antoine Brown would have been the first one I'm going to championship and he would have been on the team that you know why would have moved the bottled water ball around and I remember should I remember when SWAT guys ringing me and I was fucking eat it. I was like oh my god I was I said I said wait just this is this is the player that didn't he started You couldn't win with him on the team but wait, we're just this is what you did so good I get Anton was a real player by the time we got to Miami. I forgot he was on that team. Yeah, so you know Yeah, so yeah, he went he saw what happened. He traded us Yep. And then you know Jerry Dallas fucking Gary Welsh Jesus what are the names out there right here wow

Rob Kelly:

yeah, we traded for your

Rayshawn Buchanan:

friends yeah right Jesus yeah so ran for friends right so then you know trade deadline a year later when Christmas for sure. They I think was in Atlanta for one day just like recede comes back up to Boston that year. We went to Vegas How to lose to Indiana and in seven Gary pan goes to Miami also does so does. So does Antoine Walker. They wouldn't championship that year. I'm just like, wow, like that. That's That's crazy. That's who the guys we had anao now World Champions That's wild. So thank God. You know that Kevin McHale chose to give rap to Kevin Garnett to Boston although at the time you know Pete would even want to let go about Jefferson so which is why when you think about it in hindsight like you didn't want to like go out Jefferson for Kevin Garnett like this is this wasn't this wasn't Chuck Katie's coming back into DL but I'm like once again another casual name job. Ah. Well, welcome welcome. Welcome to the rabbit hole show. If it were full. Yeah, you know, you're saying so. Any any any final words? We'll get out there

Rob Kelly:

and just that listen, Celtics fans. We've done this before. All right, we've had these shows where we talk people off ledges, but guess what, this is not one of those shows. Finally, we have a show with some positivity. Looking forward with the Celtics. I love the makeup of this team way and one last thing so it's kind of hard. My final word. Southwick fans, aren't you happy that you gave me a dhoka a little bit more time than 14 career games coaching? Alright, I'm so sick of seeing oh me needed to be fired me needed this. Listen, the dude had never in his life coached in NBA basketball game. Never give the man a little bit of time. It takes some time guys.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Hey, well, can you blame us though? I had I had the clipboard ready to I'm sorry. I I think I would because I know what just in general are. So I was just like, Yo, you cannot have this type of talent. And you guys are blowing these many fucking leaves like I was it was just my mind. Like he used the word mind boggling. Like, it was mind boggling how many games they were blowing in late game switches. So I was just like, Yo, like, I've had enough like, I'm done. It's because it had been more of the same of what we saw the last couple years. So it was it was just so much but yes, I'm glad today now we're trusting his process and that you know, he's starting to find this Behringer, the coach shortage shortening the rotation has done wonders wonders for them. Um, so yeah, I just I just hope that you know, Derrick white Cortese attribute and Al Horford continues to contribute their raw tickets to grow into among the best big men in the league. You know, I think we're about a season or two away from seeing him as all star and in my opinion, it's hard because you know, when you're behind Jared Allen's the Bamaga BIOS Siaka Ito Sacramento center, but just think about guys that played the wing. Instead of position it's gonna be hard for him to get in there but to me, he's able to get it he's everybody's good and share it Allen and Ben autobio. Not not the talent, they are festival, but defensively he's on par with anyone in this league. Um, it's not even close, in my opinion. So but yeah, but yeah, I'm with you, man. I say I'm glad that you know, Brad. Dan, you know, he didn't take heed to what you know fans and media alike were saying and had the pitchforks you know, ready, you know, to go on and really focus from my from my final word, and I haven't really a final word I just really just I can't believe this. This is this is happening. I feel really bad for Kemba Walker, you know, has a great career in Charlotte. As all star year with us as first year in Boston. Plays entirely way too long in Chicago for you also game in 2020. Essentially, engines career there we go to the pandemic or to the worst part of the pandemic at that time back at the four months. has really one of the best plays I've seen in southern history with that bounce pass it's ice. That should have put us up throw against Toronto, obviously, you know, you know how that went. Thank you, Joe. Yeah, yeah. He got he got his soul snatched and that Miami series and just wasn't the same after that. And, you know, a Celtics fan tried to sell an expense. That Hey, you know what he wasn't, he wasn't going to be that guy. Now. It's while somebody's got to save for the rest of season after that. He shouldn't be bought out. You know, it's ironic. I think he'd be perfect off the bench for us. I do I believe

Rob Kelly:

offense off the bench. Absolutely.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Yeah. 1010 assault points off the bench easily. It looks good to me. I wasn't doing right. It actually started. I want I can I want to come on spec. I want I want to be daring white marble smart. Tatum, Brown. And then when they rob,

Rob Kelly:

so you put Tatum at the four you put Tatum at the four? Absolutely. Yeah. Okay.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

And as I said, you know, he doesn't have to be all the time. Obviously it just it gets serious. It gets Philly clearly going to put a beat in Rob in there, but anybody else you can start you can start those those five. And you know, who's who's scoring on that focus?

Unknown:

Yep, yeah, right. You

Rayshawn Buchanan:

know, that simple. You got to playmakers? You know, at the top? Yeah, really? You got five playmakers on the floor at one time?

Rob Kelly:

Yeah. You know, not many fours are athletic enough to stay with Jayson either. So what

Rayshawn Buchanan:

exactly so I, to me, I just think that would be that. I know. That's been that closing lineup. I think that's what, that's what they've done. You know, so they traded for Derrick white. So yeah, I'm excited to see what they do. You know, I said, we got 22 games left. I'm actually gonna put a number to it. That's my final word. I'm gonna say good. I already won tonight. So that was down to 19. But I mean, to 21 but I want to say they go 15 and seven, we've lost 22 games. I think that's yeah, that shows 1515. And so that means they go, they go for you now to 33. January will season. And listen, if that's the case in their top five seed. You could there's no way you could have told me it was ever gonna be a top five seed the way the season started. And also to I think the season will mirror the restaurant season. Remember, we gave up on them too. We gave we gave up on the restaurants. You know, me and my family and I did a show we put it in you know, it's in a show but in the show notes. You know, Mike Mike or pronounce them daddy. Send the neighbor soft. They will be just like with the self esteem too. Soft. can't do much. We'll do this. And all of a sudden, the boys caught fire and gave us a hell of a ride. And a dash dash around me. I think that's what's gonna happen now too. We'll get a hell of a ride this whole season. Don't know what's gonna take us, but it's gonna be a hell of a ride.

Rob Kelly:

Oh, man, you know, it's funny. Coming off NFL season, you know, you almost I don't want to say you forgot how much you love this. But I honestly forget how much I love the Celtics during football season. You know what I mean? Like, like, like, I didn't get as disappointed. I didn't get as sad at the beginning of the season as I had in the past just because, you know, I had football season distract me. It was a great season, cowboys. Were doing awesome. But now it's Celtic season that and here and you just say that just hearing that. You know, I think we're going for a ride this postseason. No, bro. I'm ready for it. I'm ready.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

I mean, I'm gonna be there. So I'm hoping. I'm hoping guys, I've been there for the game. It's gonna be crazy.

Rob Kelly:

My Celtic socks and Celtics Jersey are ready to be put on for playoff games. Okay, let's go.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

Let's go. Let's go. And just to throw in a little clip about baseball. Listen, baseball MLB owners players get their shit together get it right get it together guys. Come on. You're gonna say guys I need to go to a few games. We got concept we got to solve the phone. So let's get into

Rob Kelly:

that. I'm sick of being depressed reading my statuses of like, oh, pitchers and catchers report in 3d. Not this year. They're not not this year.

Rayshawn Buchanan:

We already passed Chuck deck. So I said we need to wait to see when you see opening day for sure. So we'll leave it at that. So for the road BK Bob Kelly. I am Rashad Buchanan. And this has been another episode of missing the point and we'll see you next time. Peace
